About Remember Your Travels

After years of traveling around the world and documenting trips through lengthy blog posts and social media photos, Matt Kepnes (AKA Nomadic Matt), still felt there was something missing about the way we document our travels. Though our digital methods of documentation are great, there’s something truly special about putting pen to paper that allows us to forge deeper memories.

However, there was more that could be done aside from simply bringing a blank journal on a trip. Oftentimes, the practice of actually journaling falls through because of the perceived effort and time it takes to write. My Travel Journal was created to help guide you through the transformative thoughts, emotions, and experiences you have while on the road in a way that feels less intimidating than just a blank page of a notebook. Through simple prompts, you’ll be able to document and remember your travels in new ways.

At Remember Your Travels, we create products so you can record your memories so that, years from now, you can walk back down memory lane and remember all the good times that changed your life.

About Matt Kepnes (Founder, CEO)

Matt Kepnes is an American travel blogger, author, and New York Times best-selling writer.

Growing up in Boston, he was never a big traveler. In 2004, he went to Costa Rica. The experience changed his life. It opened him up to all the possibilities the world had to offer. There, he experienced another culture, wildlife he had only read about in books, and new foods; got lost in a jungle; saw conservation projects in action; and met people from around the world.

From that moment on, he was hooked on travel. The following year, in the wonderful city of Chiang Mai, Matt met five backpackers who showed him that he didn’t have to be tied down to his job or be rich to travel. After that trip, he flew home, finished his MBA, quit his cubicle job, and, in July 2006, set out on an adventure around the world that continues to this day.

Since then, he has traveled to over 100 countries and territories, traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, slept in over a thousand hostels, tried weird food (including fried maggots), made lifelong friends, learned multiple languages, and, most importantly, made it his mission now to help travelers travel more.

Today, Matt has helped millions of people travel better, cheaper, and longer through his website. He’s also authored two books, How to Travel the World on $50 a Day and Ten Years a Nomad.  When he’s not traveling the world, he lives in Austin, TX.

Raimee Iacofano (Head of Marketing)

While growing up in the burbs of Detroit Michigan, Raimee didn't think much about world travel until she took her first international trip to Belize and Honduras at the age of 14. Ever since then, she was hooked on experiencing new cultures, meeting people from all walks of life, and adventuring around beautiful destinations. Raimee then started solo-traveling at the age of 17 on a trip to Ireland and has since been to over 35+ countries while studying abroad, interning overseas, and working remotely.

After graduating a year early from Michigan State University, Raimee worked in a corporate marketing office job for two years before deciding to pursue the remote work life. Through a series of serendipitous events and freelance gigs, she wound up with her dream remote job producing social media and web content with Nomadic Matt & team. Raimee helped grow the Nomadic Matt social channels and produced TONS of video and photo content throughout her 4 years working with the team.

Raimee worked for many years in the travel industry before landing the role of Head of Content at the education startup, Onomy, where she now works.  She also frequently shares her travel tips on TikTok and Instagram to a community of over 180k.
